Hidden backdoor in Tenda: router takeover risk

Hidden backdoor in Tenda: router takeover risk

Colleagues, I’d like to flag a cybersecurity story: CERT/CC has reported a hidden administrative backdoor in Tenda router firmware.

The issue affects CVE-2026-11405. It allows attackers to bypass password checks and access the web interface with administrator privileges.

Several firmware versions are affected. CERT/CC notes that the mechanism is undocumented and not visible in the management interface.

If exploited, an attacker could change settings, disable protections, and take control of the device.

Why it matters: backdoors like this are dangerous for home and office networks, where routers often go unmonitored.

I would already disable remote management and review access settings. Do you check the firmware on your network devices?
