Amazon-owned Bee launches Frontier wearable and Eclipse phone device

Amazon-owned Bee launches Frontier wearable and Eclipse phone device

Amazon-owned personal AI device maker Bee has introduced two new products: the $74.99 Bee Frontier wearable and the $99.99 Bee Eclipse, a credit-card-sized device designed to magnetically attach to the back of a smartphone. The Frontier is available now on Amazon, while Bee says the Eclipse will follow soon thereafter.

Bee Frontier is the next generation of the company’s original device. It can be worn on the wrist or pinned to clothing and comes in Onyx, Lavender and Sage. Bee Eclipse will be sold in Silver, Midnight, Honey and Blush. Both are intended to capture the useful details of everyday conversations and convert them into summaries, insights and actionable tasks.

Conversation capture with task and calendar tools

Bee describes examples ranging from remembering the date and time agreed during a conversation with friends to creating a calendar invitation. The devices can also be used for lecture notes or to record details of a care plan discussed with a doctor. Conversation summaries and recaps are included at no extra charge, with 14 days of memory.

The $11.99-per-month Bee Pro plan provides unlimited conversation summaries and integrations with Amazon.com, Alexa+ and third-party applications. It also includes suggested to-dos, daily memories, a personal chat assistant and conversation templates.

Bee connects with Gmail, Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook, allowing it to draft emails, schedule meetings and surface action items. Users can upload photos or connect Apple HealthKit so wellness information can be incorporated into the insights it provides.

Security design and Amazon integrations

Bee says its private computing security architecture processes audio in real time and then deletes the raw audio rather than storing it. Conversation transcripts are encrypted with keys that the user’s device creates and controls. Bee says Amazon employees and other parties cannot access those files unless the user manually and intentionally shares them.

An optional Alexa connection lets an Echo device use Voice ID to identify when the user is speaking and record conversations for Bee-generated insights. Bee says users can delete transcripts and summaries at any time. With Amazon.com and Alexa connections enabled, users can make Amazon purchases or ask Alexa hands-free for Bee insights, summaries or to-dos.

Hardware details and deployment considerations

Each new Bee device has a single power button and an indicator light that shows when it is summarising a conversation. The Frontier adds IP67 water resistance, USB-C charging, up to seven days of battery life and dual microphones with advanced noise filtering. The products work through a newly redesigned mobile companion app, alongside a new desktop app.

For businesses evaluating conversation-capture tools, the practical implication is to assess the supported productivity workflows alongside employee consent, transcript sharing and retention controls before introducing Bee devices into meetings or other sensitive settings.
