Five PearX Demo Day Startups That Drew VC Interest

Five PearX Demo Day Startups That Drew VC Interest

PearX cohort draws attention across AI and hardware

PearX’s latest demo day in San Francisco highlighted five startups that venture investors identified as standouts from a batch of 16 companies: Speridlabs, Saia, Ren, Veros and Datum. Their products range from spatial AI and on-device inference hardware to privacy-oriented assistants, trust planning and industrial design software.

PearX is a 12-week accelerator operated by pre-seed and seed investor Pear VC. The programme caps cohorts at 20 startups, and Pear VC says participants remain undisclosed until demo day. Its investments do not follow standard terms and can reach $2 million.

The smaller format differentiates PearX from Y Combinator, while the investor attention around the event reflects its track record. Recent alumni include Known, a voice-AI dating-matching company backed by Forerunner Ventures, and compliance automation startup Andera, which raised a $37 million Series A from Lightspeed.

The products investors singled out

Speridlabs is developing spatial foundational models for robotics, gaming and special effects. Its product, Mundus, is positioned as a “3D Midjourney” whose geometry remains persistent when an element is modified. The company argues that competing world-model products from Runway, Odyssey and Google’s Genie cannot be queried or altered in the same way.

Saia is designing a chip for running AI inference directly on devices. The company says it runs AI from flash storage, avoiding the conventional memory used by Nvidia GPUs and Google TPUs. Saia claims eight times the capacity and four times lower power use than Nvidia Jetson. It says it is discussing memory integration with Samsung, plans test-chip fabrication next year and targets mass production in 2028.

Ren is building an AI personal assistant with an emphasis on security and privacy. It says data remains on-device where possible or is handled in a secure private cloud, with actions checked against user-defined guardrails. Unlike services that use human operators for calls, Ren says its voice system is fully automated.

Veros offers an AI-native approach to trust and estate planning, aiming to recommend trust structures and manage assets over their lifetime. The company says it already manages $250 million in assets under management and is pursuing a trust charter to operate as a regulated trust company.

Datum targets industrial design teams by indexing libraries of 3D designs. Its proprietary Geometric Fingerprint technology identifies parts by shape, with the aim of helping engineers locate and reuse existing work across physical-product development.

What the cohort signals for businesses

The mix of companies shows how early-stage AI propositions are extending beyond general-purpose models into physical design, device hardware, regulated financial workflows and privacy-sensitive automation. That pattern also complements the investor interest around YC Demo Day startups attracting investor interest as demo-day cohorts increasingly compete on specific operational use cases rather than broad AI claims.

For businesses evaluating emerging vendors, the practical implication is to test the stated technical advantage against deployment requirements, privacy controls, regulatory status and production timelines before treating demo-day attention as evidence of readiness.
