Anthropic and OpenAI form comparable joint ventures for enterprise AI — a new commercialization model

Anthropic announced a JV with Blackstone, Hellman & Friedman and Goldman Sachs to roll out enterprise AI services; valuation $1.5bn, including $300m each from the three firms. Hours earlier Bloomberg reported a similar OpenAI initiative—The Development Company: $4bn from 19 investors at a $10bn valuation. Both projects aim to engage alternative asset managers as sales channels into their portfolio companies and to scale engineering capacity (FDE).
