Osaurus for Mac: local and cloud LLMs on your device

Osaurus for Mac: local and cloud LLMs on your device

Friends, I’d like to share an AI update: Osaurus is an open LLM server for macOS that lets you switch between local and cloud models while keeping files on your device.

According to TechCrunch, the project evolved from the local assistant Dinoki. The developers built a user-friendly interface and a hardware-isolated sandbox for security. Osaurus supports many models, cloud providers and 20+ plugins (mail, calendar, browser, files). Local deployment requires significant resources (from ~64 GB RAM; for large models ≈128 GB). The project has been downloaded over 112,000 times.

Why it matters: local AI gives control over data and reduces dependence on data centers. How do you assess the potential of local AI for business? #AI #LocalAI #macOS #Privacy
