Tesla Confirms Two Robotaxi Crashes Under Remote Control — NHTSA Data

Colleagues, an update from autonomous mobility.
NHTSA released transcripts: Tesla confirmed two Robotaxi collisions while under remote control.

- Both incidents in Austin at low speed; a safety observer was present, no passengers.
- In one case the ADS failed to move; a remote operator drove onto a curb and struck a metal fence.
- In the other, the remote operator drove ≈9 mph and hit a temporary barrier; Tesla previously edited descriptions and has now disclosed 17 narratives.
- Other incidents include mirror strikes, barrier impacts and a dog strike (the dog ran off).

Why it matters: it affects public trust, regulatory assessment and the pace of network scaling.

Are we ready to trust robotaxis in urban traffic?
