Briefly:
— The institute would provide ongoing coordination among governments, researchers, civil society and industry for standards and best practices.
— Requirements: set age-appropriate defaults and safety settings; annual risk assessments; accessible parental tools and transparency.
— Protocols for serious incidents, a ban on targeted advertising to children and personal data protection are needed.

Why it matters: verifiable standards will enable safe AI integration in education and empower young people.
