Major 2026 Breaches: Social Security Leaks and Infrastructure Attacks

Colleagues, I want to highlight critical cybersecurity developments: in 2026 we’ve seen a series of large-scale breaches and data leaks.

A potential mass leak of Social Security records (alleged involvement of DOGE) and ensuing litigation rank among the most serious incidents. Attacks on power and water systems in Europe and the U.S. demonstrate risks to life and critical infrastructure. Iranian-linked actors targeted Stryker; ShinyHunters breached Instructure/Canvas, exfiltrating millions of records. Software and open-source supply chains were compromised, affecting the FBI and major corporations.
