ThreatsDay: Smart TVs as proxies, curl bug and Hoppscotch takeover

ThreatsDay: Smart TVs as proxies, curl bug and Hoppscotch takeover

Colleagues, note the latest ThreatsDay in cybersecurity.

- Smart TVs: Spur Intelligence found a proxy SDK in ~34% of LG/Samsung apps — devices can act as residential proxies.
- curl: six vulnerabilities fixed, including a bug present since 2001 (patch 8.21.0).
- Hoppscotch: critical unauthenticated takeover (CVE-2026-50160) — full server compromise possible.
- Also: phishing via Microsoft 365 groups, malicious Edge extensions and macOS‑based stealers abusing workflows.

Why it matters: attackers leverage stale credentials, trusted apps and integrations — revoke old accounts, apply patches and scan connected devices.
