What the researchers note:
• Some FIFA partners still have insufficiently strict DMARC, making email impersonation possible;
• The number of fake sportsbook apps and bogus Telegram channels has surged;
• Fraudulent travel and hotel domains, including on .top, were registered ahead of time, some with MX records.

Why it matters: these campaigns undermine trust, payments and brand reputation, so domain, email and app verification must be strengthened now.
