Cybersecurity 2026: Knowing the risks does not yet mean resilience

Colleagues, I would like to highlight a key shift in cybersecurity: according to Bitdefender, risk awareness is increasing, but operational resilience is still lagging.

What stands out in the report:
— many organisations have only partial visibility into AI use, including Shadow AI;
— everyone wants to reduce the attack surface, but budgets, business risk and a lack of strategy get in the way;
— AI dominates the agenda, although real attacks often rely on familiar techniques, including LOTL;
— after incidents, pressure to stay silent is still often stronger than transparency.

Why it matters: it is not enough to understand threats — you must be able to turn that understanding into action quickly.
