Gemini Spark on Mac: Google intensifies the AI agent race

I’d like to share a notable AI update: Google has launched Gemini Spark on Mac.

Spark is built into the Gemini desktop app and can work with files on your computer, as well as Google Tasks and Google Keep. Integrations include Canva, Dropbox, Instacart, OpenTable and Zillow Rentals.

It also adds real-time topic tracking and custom MCP support, helping the assistant adapt more precisely to user needs.

For now, it is in beta and available only to Google AI Ultra subscribers in the U.S., but the direction is clear: AI agents are moving closer to everyday work.

Why it matters: the market is shifting from demos to practical use cases involving files, tasks and services.
