Etched, TSMC and Arizona: how Jack Selby helps hardware startups reach production

Etched, TSMC and Arizona: how Jack Selby helps hardware startups reach production

I’d like to share a brief update from the technology and semiconductor world.

Jack Selby and Copper Sky Capital are betting on hardware startups that need more than funding — they also need a path to manufacturing in the United States.

One example is Etched. The startup has already received its first chip from TSMC and is preparing to ship to customers.

The key risk remains the same: TSMC’s constrained capacity in Taiwan. Selby hopes some production can be shifted to Arizona.

Why it matters: this is a model in which capital, startups and local manufacturing begin to work together.

Do you think Arizona can strengthen its role in chipmaking? #startups #semiconductors #TSMC #hardware
