These attacks may have exposed confidential committee documents and discussions.

The likely vector was the zero-click PWNYOURHOME exploit, later patched by Apple. The device was running iOS 15.5.

This matters because the issue now extends beyond journalists and activists to those investigating surveillance abuse themselves.
