Verification Is Becoming ATO’s New Battleground — And We’re Already Seeing It In 2026

Verification Is Becoming ATO’s New Battleground — And We’re Already Seeing It In 2026

Colleagues, I’d like to highlight a key trend in cybersecurity and Identity Security.

Account takeover attacks are shifting from passwords to verification, account recovery, and magic-link flows.

Passkeys are now mainstream, which means the value of stolen passwords is falling. At the same time, the risk of identity spoofing, deepfake selfies, synthetic documents, and AI-driven attacks is rising.

For me, the takeaway is clear: passwordless, liveness checks, risk-based re-verification, and binding intent should be the foundation, not an option.

Why it matters: attackers go where controls are weakest. Today, that is often not the login, but identity verification.

Have you already reviewed your verification flows?
