OpenAI has announced GPT-5.6, and this model will become the preferred option in Microsoft 365 Copilot.

What this means:

• in PowerPoint — stronger, more polished presentations;
• in Copilot Chat and Cowork — support for complex tasks and cross-functional collaboration.

Microsoft will also make the model available directly via API.
