OpenAI is betting on family AI: ChatGPT is entering the home

I’d like to share a development from the AI and OpenAI ecosystem.
OpenAI is reportedly hiring a dedicated product manager for products designed for families, caregivers, and older users.
That is a signal: ChatGPT is looking less like a personal productivity tool and more like home technology.
At the same time, the audience is shifting: the share of users aged 35+ is growing, while 18–24 is declining.
Against this backdrop, safety mechanisms matter more than ever: child profiles, parental controls, sensitive-conversation handling, and Trusted Contact.
Why this matters: family AI requires a different level of trust, control, and design than a standard consumer product.
What do you think — will AI in families be primarily an assistant, or a source of new risks?
