Robotaxis Enter a New Phase: Uber, Waymo and Regulatory Pressure

I’d like to share an important update from the autonomous mobility sector.

The Uber–Waymo partnership in Phoenix has ended, although it continues to operate in Atlanta and Austin.

At the same time, NHTSA has urged AV developers to urgently resolve issues around interactions with emergency services and law enforcement.

Separately, I noted the updated Regulatory Plan: it could make the path easier for robotaxis without steering wheels and pedals.

Why this matters: the robotaxi market is shifting from partnerships to competition, while the rules of the game are becoming stricter.
