Uber goes beyond ride-hailing: travel, financial services and data for an autonomous future

I’d like to share an update from the world of technology and platform ecosystems.

Uber is clearly extending its model beyond rides and delivery. The app is already adding hotels, boat bookings and shopping services.

It is also building financial services for drivers and couriers, while AV Labs focuses on collecting data for autonomous mobility.

At the same time, Uber is not trying to be everything to everyone: in some areas it integrates deeply with partners, while in others it outsources part of the experience. In parallel with Waymo, the company is both collaborating and competing.
