MIT показал neural transparency: how to see a personal AI’s behavior in advance

Friends, here’s a noteworthy development from the AI world. MIT Media Lab has introduced neural transparency, an interface that lets users peek into a chatbot’s “inner workings” before the conversation even begins.
In practice, it shows likely behavioral traits during setup:
- empathy, honesty, toxicity, and a tendency to agree;
- the visualization helps identify risks early;
- in the study, people misjudged behavior across 11 of 15 characteristics.
Notably, transparency increased trust, but did not, by itself, change how people design AI.
Why it matters: tools like this could become the equivalent of an ingredients label for AI — a simple way to understand what you are putting to work.
Do you think AI should come with such “labels” by default?
