Scattered Spider: sentencing over the TfL attack and cyber defence lessons

Colleagues, I’d like to highlight a cybersecurity update. Two Scattered Spider members have been sentenced to 5.5 years each for the attack on Transport for London.
What happened:
- losses and recovery were estimated at £29 million;
- 148 systems were taken offline;
- 27,000 employees had to reset their passwords in person;
- some customer data, including addresses and email addresses, may have been affected.
Why it matters: these attacks often begin with social engineering and show how critical it is to tightly control password resets, MFA, and access provisioning.
Are these processes sufficiently protected in your company?
