Google Vids is turning into an AI video platform: avatars, Gemini Omni and step-by-step editing

I’d like to share some news from the AI and video space: Google Vids is significantly expanding its capabilities.

Now, I can create a digital avatar that looks like me from a selfie and voice recording.

Google is also adding Gemini Omni: videos can be assembled from text and reference images, then backgrounds, lighting and effects can be adjusted and edited step by step.

In effect, Vids is moving beyond a presentation tool and becoming a full-fledged corporate video platform.

Importantly, avatars are linked to the account and protected by SynthID, while access is limited by region and to users 18+.

Why it matters: AI video is rapidly becoming a practical tool for training, updates and content.
