In Zoom, it is increasingly common to start a meeting by default with a recording or transcript. One VC even changed their name to a long statement saying they do not consent to being recorded.

AI note-taking has become so routine that many now assume in advance: the conversation is being stored.

But this raises an important question: where is the line between convenience, consent and respect for personal space?

Why it matters: automated transcription is changing the culture of communication and requires greater attention to recording policies.
