Current AI shows what open, accessible AI for everyone can look like

Friends, I want to share a piece of AI news: the nonprofit Current AI is building open public AI infrastructure that is not tied to Big Tech.
What especially resonated with me is the Suno Sutra project — an offline device supporting 22 Indian languages, developed together with Bhashini.
Key points:
— open source and strong support for developer communities;
— $3.2 million in grants for projects in Africa, Lebanon, and Brazil;
— the launch of Alpha Chat and a shared open stack for new solutions.
To me, this is not only about technology, but also about control over data, consent, and linguistic diversity.
Why it matters: if AI is truly changing the world, people should have a public and accessible choice.
Do you think open AI can become a real alternative to closed platforms?
