Netflix acquires Ben Affleck-backed AI startup for $587M: a strategic bet on AI in film

According to the report, the company’s tools help improve content in post-production by filling in missing shots, replacing backgrounds, and adjusting lighting.

Following the deal, the entire startup team will join Netflix, while Affleck will serve as a senior adviser. Netflix also says generative AI has already been used in around 300 of its projects.
