Russian intelligence reportedly uses IP cameras to monitor NATO and Ukrainian logistics

Colleagues, I’d like to highlight a cybersecurity development.

I noted reports that internet-exposed IP cameras are being used to observe military logistics in NATO countries and Ukraine.

According to intelligence services, attackers are searching for open cameras, gaining access via default passwords and outdated firmware.

In Ukraine, such access has reportedly already been used in attempts to harm military targets.

What to do: remove cameras from public exposure, disable port forwarding and UPnP, use VPN, change passwords, enable MFA, and keep firmware updated.

Why it matters: one camera can give an adversary a live view of movements and assets without breaching the entire network.

How do you secure IP cameras in your infrastructure?
