Adobe Acrobat Extension Vulnerability Could Expose WhatsApp Web

Colleagues, I’d like to draw your attention to a cybersecurity update.

A now-patched vulnerability was found in the Adobe Acrobat extension for Chrome. Under certain conditions, it could have allowed a malicious page to read data from WhatsApp Web.

For the attack, it was enough for a user to open a specially crafted link or page.

The flaw could then bypass browser restrictions and access data from an active cross-site session.

This could affect chat lists, contact names, message previews, and the text of an open conversation.

Why it matters: even popular extensions can become a data leakage point if they are not updated and links are not checked.
