Robinhood product chief to outline financial platform strategy at Disrupt

Robinhood Vice President of Product Management for Brokerage Abhishek Fatehpuria will appear at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026, where he is scheduled to discuss “Winning the Modern Financial Consumer.” The session will take place on the Smart Money Stage during the October 13–15 event at Moscone West in San Francisco.

The discussion comes as Robinhood positions itself beyond its original identity as a commission-free stock-trading app. At the end of August 2026, the company reported 28.6 million funded customers and $384 billion in total platform assets.

From brokerage product to broader financial offering

Robinhood’s portfolio now includes investing, banking, credit, crypto, retirement and prediction markets. Its recent launches have also extended into AI, private markets and international expansion, increasing the range of products customers can use within the service.

In its second-quarter results, Robinhood said Robinhood Banking had attracted more than $3 billion in deposits. Its credit card business had surpassed $100 million in annualized revenue, while prediction markets had traded more than 3.5 billion contracts by that point.

The scale of that expansion is central to the product question Fatehpuria is expected to address: how a financial technology company can add services while preserving an experience that feels intuitive and earns customer trust. The broader Disrupt programme, including TechCrunch Disrupt AI scaling programme, brings together companies examining how technology businesses scale AI and adjacent services.

AI tools and changing customer expectations

Robinhood is experimenting with AI-powered investing tools including Cortex and Agentic Trading. In the second quarter, the company said nearly 100,000 customers had opened Agentic Trading accounts, which let users trade equities, options and crypto through AI-powered agents.

Prediction markets have become one of Robinhood’s fastest-growing businesses. The company said 4.7 billion event contracts were traded in August alone, a figure it described as 15 times higher than a year earlier.

Fatehpuria’s session is framed around a financial market in which customers increasingly expect instant access, personalisation and seamless digital interactions. For founders, investors and product leaders, the practical implication is that expanding a platform’s financial scope must be matched by deliberate prioritisation, clear customer experiences and trust-building product decisions.
