Apple reportedly prepares HomeView hub in two form factors

Apple is expected to unveil a smart home hub called HomeView on Tuesday, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports. The device is described as a Siri-powered product with a display and an A18 chip, intended to let customers control other connected home devices.
Gurman says Apple plans two HomeView models: one for a countertop and another designed for wall mounting. The announcement is also expected to include updated Apple TV set-top boxes and a refreshed HomePod mini.
A broader smart-home hardware push
HomeView would represent Apple’s most serious smart-home hardware effort to date. The company’s HomeKit software framework and HomePod smart speaker have not gained substantial traction, making a dedicated display-based controller a notable shift in the product line.
The reported product positioning puts Siri at the centre of household controls, while the A18 chip would provide the device’s processing platform. The source does not specify pricing, availability, display size or the capabilities of either HomeView configuration.
Apple’s planned launch follows the company’s hardware event cycle, in which Apple’s major September 9 launch signalled a major Apple launch on September 9 and focused attention on the company’s device roadmap.
Connected devices and partner ecosystem
Gurman also reported earlier in the week that Apple intends to announce a partnership with LG covering a smart lock, thermostat and doorbell. Those categories would extend the set of devices that could be relevant to a central smart-home control product.
The reports frame HomeView as more than a standalone screen: it is expected to sit alongside Apple TV, HomePod mini and compatible connected-home equipment. However, Apple has not publicly confirmed the HomeView name, the reported specifications, the two designs or the LG partnership.
What organizations should monitor
For organizations evaluating connected-room or managed-property technology, the key question is whether Apple turns the reported hardware into a coherent control experience across supported devices. Procurement teams should wait for confirmed compatibility, management capabilities and commercial terms before treating HomeView as a platform decision.
