Nous Research Secures $90M for Enterprise Hermes Agents

Nous Research has raised a $90 million Series B at a $1.5 billion valuation and launched Hermes for Businesses, an enterprise offering based on its open-source Hermes agent. The three-year-old startup’s new financing brings its total funding to $158 million.

Robot Ventures led the round. Nvidia, Union Square Ventures, Menlo Ventures, Samsung and 1789 Capital also participated; Donald Trump Jr. is a partner at 1789 Capital. The Wall Street Journal reported the round, confirming prior reporting on the valuation.

From an open-source agent to enterprise deployments

Hermes has found an audience among developers and individual users. Nous Research says the agent has been cloned more than 24 million times and is responsible for roughly 2.5% of global AI token usage, based on the startup’s own estimates.

The company is now directing that traction toward organizations through Hermes for Businesses. The product is intended to let companies deploy customized AI agents that can complete multi-step workflows while maintaining private and secure handling of their data.

The company’s financing and product expansion follow Nous Research's open-source AI agent valuation and underline how open-source AI-agent projects are being positioned for business adoption, with customization and data handling central to the enterprise proposition.

Revenue targets and the business test

Nous Research was at roughly $36 million in annualized revenue by mid-September 2026, The Wall Street Journal reported. The startup expects to pass $100 million before the end of 2026.

The figures place the enterprise push alongside a clear commercial objective. For customers, the relevant question is not simply whether an agent can perform a task, but whether customized multi-step workflows can be deployed with the privacy and security controls their data requires.

What businesses can take from the launch

Organizations evaluating AI agents can use the Hermes for Businesses launch as a practical reason to define which workflows need customization, what data may be exposed to an agent and which privacy and security requirements must be met before deployment.
