Google AI Mode expands trip planning with price alerts and hotel booking

Google has added flight-price tracking, hotel booking and points-or-miles pricing to AI Mode, its conversational search experience. Flight tracking is available in more than 180 countries, hotel booking has begun rolling out in English in the United States, and points and miles results are available globally.
The changes move AI Mode beyond travel research toward handling elements of trip planning and booking. Users can describe where and when they want to travel, review available options and build an itinerary within the AI Mode conversation.
Flight search, alerts and reward pricing
For flights, AI Mode can display current options using prices from more than 300 airlines and travel sites. A traveller who is not ready to purchase can ask the tool to track selected flight prices; Google will send an email when prices change for the entered destination and dates.
AI Mode can also calculate matching flight and hotel options in loyalty points or miles. Google gives the example of a traveller seeking nonstop flights from Atlanta to Miami with American Airlines miles for an October 9 departure and October 12 return, with results showing the miles needed for relevant flights.
The new functions extend a travel workflow in which AI Mode hotel price tracking and store calls demonstrates how AI Mode can track hotel prices and call stores, while the latest release adds flight alerts and booking steps to the same conversational interface.
Hotel reservations stay with partners
Users can describe an upcoming trip and hotel preferences to receive a list of options with reviews and other key factors. After choosing a property, they can ask AI Mode for help completing the reservation and select the “Continue on Google” option shown with integrated partners.
That hand-off lets travellers choose a room, review information such as the cancellation policy, and complete payment with Google Pay. Google says the hotel or booking platform handles the reservation and any customer service, rather than AI Mode itself.
The US rollout includes offerings from Booking.com, Choice Hotels International, Expedia, Hilton, Hotels.com, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International, Priceline, Trip.com and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. For businesses, the practical implication is to ensure partner inventory, room information, cancellation terms and support processes remain accurate as customers increasingly begin travel decisions in conversational search.
